The RMR® Type 2 was selected by U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) for the Handgun Reflex Sight (HRS) Contract after extensive testing and evaluation showed the RMR Type 2 to be uniquely reliable and durable in handgun applications.

These just happen to be actual HRS Contract optics. Since these are military contract, the go through additional quality control. First a battery is installed to confirm the RMR powers up and adjusts accordinly. Then the RMR is mounted to a collimator to validate full range of adjustments. Finally the optics have been mounted to a test fixture and immersed to a depth of 3 feet for a period of 2 hours. All of these RMRs have passed this inspection and are ready for hard use.

This RMR, like the HRS RM06, features a 3.25 MOA red dot and anodized coyote brown housing. It has been etched with the NSN and is packaged in a plain brown craft box with military markings and Mil-Spec manual.
